new 2009 vibe owner here

Post by bondo123 »

hello everybody, nice forum with a wealth of info, i just registered yesterday after running into the website a week ago, got my 1.8 base vibe on 7-30 trading in my beat up but beloved previa with the cash for clunker deal, so far 600 care free very enjoyable miles, i am going to baby it putting as little miles as possible on it, see it's such a good safe car i want to leave it to my girl who will be driving age 5 years from nowmine is a plain vanilla base with no power window, wife wanted to spend $6k more on an absolutely gorgeous white loaded GT, i opted to get the base as i am a cheapo and could not rationalize paying 60% more for luxury goodies, see if it were only me who drove it i would buy a 5 speed no air conditioning LOL to save even more, though i must admit i would crave for the GT if i got the dough, it's not like there were a lot of selection though all the 1.8L inventories were wiped out the first week of the clunker deal because there was a $4500 rebate vs. $3500 for the 2.4L, i had to drive 150 miles inland to get the deal, good news for GM is after the clunker deal and recent GM/EBAY promotion there are no more vibes left within 100 miles where we livefinally kudos to folks who build such a good car at NUMMI , they are only 20 miles from us, it's really sad to see them close down, good jobs like those are pretty hard to come by, best luck to them

thank you kincaid, mine is navy blue, how you like that color? i think mystic blue is more attractive though i haven't seen in person just photos, BTW yes that white GT is absolutely stunning, they had both a red and white GT, the red has been sold last week, i personally would choose white as red is too flashy for me, beautiful nonetheless, reminds me of the fiery red on the pontiac fiero, on the contrary i 've seen the 09 matrix GT equivalent just looking plain weird maybe even ugly

They quit making the Mystic Blue in late 2008, though it is a phemonenal color. One of the people at work has it. I like our steel blue one a lot, though.

Navy blue was my favorite color - second was silver, which I got. I do love white though. My Civic and Accord are white (though I like it less when they are dirty).I'm not sure I've ever seen the mystic blue in person.

hey bluecrush did you get your through C4C too ? since you are in snow country, are the vibes mostly AWD, or will FWD do, i am trying to drive to snow Nevada in winter , just wondering if my FWD will do, reviews i read say even the FWD will do because it has a very good tracking system, thanks
