My 2007 Vibe makes a clunking noise at low speeds when I speed up or slow down. I don't have to have the brakes on or turn the wheels for this to happen. I've only noticed it at low speeds. It's a single clunk, almost like something is shifting in the front end of the car with the change in momentum. I took it in to Pontiac for service and they have recommedned having the callipers cleaned and lubed as they are sticking and then letting go suddening. I'm sceptical.
Hi and welcome to GV..!!You could try going through the brakes, seems unlikely... If the brakes where sticking, they would be getting HOT... possibly hot enough to get the wheels warm... Next time to go out, at the destination, use the back of your hand and touch the wheels near the center, if they are warm or hot, then you might have a sticking caliper... I would think either a motor mount or a CV joint from your description...
