Rear facing car seat

I have two kids, a two year old and a one month old. My one month old rode in the Vibe for the first time today. Since his car seat is rear facing he and I don't fit in there together. I switched the seats around so the rear facing child seat is on the passenger side, but I know my wife will barely fit with the seat far enough up to accommodate. Anyone with little kids? What rear facing car seat do you use, and do you fit well?

I have a Graco something-or-other with the base that stays in the car. The car-seat fits fine between the two front seats.

we have the eddie bauer carseat -- we put it behind the driver b/c of the 60/40 split. had to sacrifice sitting closer to the wheel until it went forward facing.
