Post by 04chargedvibe »

Ok well seeing as the last topic posted about paint hasnt been answered yet I dont know if i should ask but never hurts to try lol. I was thinking about painting the cover over the engine. Anyone got any tips on the best way. I know i would need the high temp paint. Just wanted to see if anyone knows the best way before i try it and screw it up lol.

Hi and welcome to GV..!AFA painting the cover, you DON'T need hi temp paint... It doesn't really get that hot... not hot enough to need a paint that could withstand 300* for any amount of time.. just use regular old paint, quality paint, but nothing uber special.. lol.. Like brake calipers, 99% of people driving won't ever get them hot enough to need hi temp paint on them.. lol.. The new plastic paints would work well too.. As with any painting project, prep is key... good paint comes with good prep..
