I have an 05 5 speed with around 51k miles (original clutch). In the 4.5 years I have had the car I have used the Specialty Formulations fluid, Amsoil and for the past couple of years the Castrol Syntorq. I think I like the Castrol the best and was thinking of putting in new fluid this fall. For those of you who have used more than one transmission fluid what do you like the best?
Redline MTL or MT-90 depending on the required specs. Have noticed in previous cars a gain as much and 2-3 whp on the dyno and increase in fuel economy. GM Syncomesh synth fluid is also a good choice as well.
2009 Vibe 1.8L Manual - DBW controller, Hydraulic engine damper, S/S brakeline retrokit,22mm solid Rear ARB, urethane rear coil dampers, Front strut bar with brake cylinder brace, PIAA 410 driving lights, PRM Intake Wilwood front brakes, Lexus hood lifts
The 05 Vibe and maybe other MY spec at 75W90 GL-4.I had read that many use a 50 50 mix of Redline MTL and Redline MT-90.Is the the GM fluid just the rebadged Castrol Syntorq?
Each time I changed the tranny fluid in the Sunfire, I used redline. When I do the Vibe, it'll be a synthetic 75-90... I've never been a fan of using ATF in a manual transmission!
