Interior hatch light

I just had my Vibe fixed from a nasty rear end collision with a Mack Truck (I posted a couple pictures in a different thread.) I am having a dispute with my body shop, I brought it back and pointed out that the interior light next to the hatch door does not light up when it is set to "door" and the hatch is open. It still lights up when the passenger doors open. The body shop said that it is supposed to be like that. That doesn't seem right to me, but hey, it is my first Vibe and I only had it a month. The owners manual was no help. So, when you open your hatch does the light come on?

Yes, they are supposed to light up. Open only the hatch and see if the indicator in the instrument panel shows a door open. If not, then they have screwed something up and they need to fix it.

When I open my hatch, the door ajar light in the dash comes on, and the interior dome lights come on as well. Take it back to the shop and tell them to pull their heads out of their butts and fix it.

Call your insurance company and get them involved if the Body Shop will not budge.
