GM Vibe Replacement?

Hi, I bought a vibe and was very happy with it. I was very sorry to see it go. GM always seems to kill off some of its best models. I would like to buy another GM car. Is there any subcompact hatchback in the in the GM lineup comparable to the VIBE?Will the Chevy Cruze have a hatchback? With the diesel engine option, that would be a great car.Thanks, MikeC

If you enjoyed your Vibe that much, why not consider getting another one while there are still a few new ones to be had? But if you do, you need to hurry. Production stopped on them this week and the last ones are being shipped. If the posts by members on this board are any indication of what is going on in other parts of the country, whatever Vibes are left on dealers lots may not be there for too much longer.Good luck!!!

Or get a Matrix...GM's replacement for the Vibe/HHR will be the Orlando even though it will be slightly larger and offer 3 rows of seating.

Eh, it's ok. I think there needs to be a few refinements done before it's released, but I'm not a big fan of the look of most of the Chevs out there right now.

If a car doesn't come from the NUMMI plant in Fremont, it ain't worth buying.In my opinion, there is GM and there is NUMMI.Consider for example a, lets say a 1999 "Chevrolet" Prizm and a 1999 Chevrolet Caviler.Small fuel efficient chevys. But a world of difference in build quality.I even have issues comparing the Pontiac Sunbird with the Pontiac Vibe.They are completely different vehicles.Ratings on Consumer Reports of these 2 cars:Pontiac Sunbird- Below average reliabilityPontiac Vibe- Above average reliability (recommended)

Well, scherry2It was a blanket statement, written with a broad stroke, it was meant to shock, and yes even offend if you will.The only 2 car brands I have ever owned and will ever own are Toyota's and NUMMI cars. They are simply the most well built.I tended towards the NUMMI cars because they were a much better transportation value in the long run.I LOVE MY VIBE!

I am not sure what GM may have in the future that would be of interest to me, but to keep my options open I am reloading my GM Master Card earnings credits. My option is to take 2% Cash from Schwab Visa. However my history is that I have received closer to 9% due to GM adding to my earnings with special promotions (in Jan. 2003 $850 earnings increased to $2,003, and in Jan. 2009 $1,850 in earnings increased to $3,000). So I am willing to give up 2% cash for a potential 9% of purchases credit towards a GM car perhaps 6 years form now. My GM Card is the legacy card having a max of $500 a year with carryover up to 7 years - total max $3,500.
