How to install dress up LED's ?

Post by leemur »

I'm getting some 4" show fogs for my 09 grill that I want on all the time. They only come with the wires so beyond an inline fuse and ground, where/what is the best way to tap into ACC, like the cigg lighter? Thanks, Lee

You would be FAR better off, running a dedicated power line off the battery for the fogs main power.. Using a relay, you could wire to almost any switched power in the car... then you could also add a switch to that line, if you made it a DPDT switch, you could also throw in a constant power.. The DPDT switch would allow you to have them on ALL the time, regardless of the car.. OR, have them on only when the ignition is on... OR have them off all the time.. Now, I'm not sure where the LED's come in?

I think the lights are only 8 watts per light and wouldn't draw much power, but the relay sounds good. Now, under the hood what line is a good one to tap the relayed wire into? I only know the old ways of simple wiring. I want the lights on whenever the car is on or ACC.For the battery wire, should I tap in at the post or anothr spot? These are the lights:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...:1123Thanks again, Lee
