Oh the joys of being young. A few years down the road none of this will mean a thing. Ignore them, if you do anything else you're just bringing yourself down to their level.

just ignore those kids. who cares what they think or what they call it. they've obviously got issues and not yet matured or just spoiled. i've seen these types of kids all the time and most of them didn't even buy the car themselves so they don't appreciate anything.

It's so hard to understand the perspective of 'older' people when you're young.I got picked on alot when I was a kid. You hear the saying, kids can be cruel, and it's true. There isn't much I can say that will help. But over time, I learned to develop a thick skin, and ignore what others say. At my age, I find it's not worth getting worked up about what others say. Getting upset at such trivial stuff can get you into trouble.Focus on enjoying the time you have, youth only comes once. Set some goals and work towards them.

Haha, I got a lot of that stuff from my car guy friends (the guy friends that knew a lot a bout cars). I always joked back with them about the little things and just kinda just tried to get each other pissed off. And at the end we respected each other's rides. But the other people who said stuff, I asked what kind of engine they have, how much horsepower, how many cylinders, how they paid for it. Just got under their skin by just pissing them of by making them realize its not what you drive, its how you drive it. Either that, or all they knew about their cars is that you turn the key to make it start.

i feel you im only 19 i had the vibe all through high school and got sh*t in high school about it and at work still. mod the vibe up man. i threw some rims on my car and everyone shut up. the vibe is a really good car no matter how many people with riced out eclipse say otherwise. I'm not sure what kind of vibe you have. but i have the base model and its an auto but it doesn't matter. if you have the money anything can be fast or cool or whatever. there's a lot of vibes with 300+ horse show them vibes have potential. they could also be jealous. you also prob have a way newer car then most of them talking sh*t anyway, don't let it get to you!

LoL... I was thinking I could drop you off one day, in the Subie... Say the Vibe is getting something done... lol... You can't compete with the ricer mentality though, man... They will constantly bring you down to their level.. Remember an idiot will ALWAYS bring you down to their level and beat you with experience..Pretty soon, YOU will be out at lunch, revving your engine and basically being Ignorant... You CAN be a bigger man, you just might have to take more **** for it.. People who talk ****, eat ****... remember that... One day and i'm sure it won't be long, one of the asshats will be wrapped around a light pole, or talk **** to the wrong person and end up shot... Don't be that guy... whatever you do, don't be that guy..

I sure don't miss those days.I'm just going to repeat what everyone else has said. Just keep ignoring them. There are just pushing your buttons to get a reaction out of you. It is tough to be the bigger man, but it will work out better for you in the end.

One of the first things you learn as a grown up is to be comfortable with who you are and the choices you make ignoring what the others around you are doing.IF you like this car, are happy with this car and don't desire to change, accept the flack, hold your head up high and know that you are much further along in the world than the those still living in the juvenile peer pressure world which you will soon be leaving behind anyway.High school is such a screwy time of life. While it would be great to go back and redo a portion of my life, my starting point would be well AFTER the high school years for that is something I've NO desire to repeat. To quote Paul Simon in his song Kodachrome:When I think backOn all the crap I learned in high schoolIts a wonderI can think at allAnd though my lack of edu---cationHasnt hurt me noneI can read the writing on the wall........

I was thinking about this more, and if I had given in to the pressures of HS, I would have been drinking and doing drugs.. None of which I started doing till AFTER I graduated... I wasn't part of the "in" crowd, in fact I was one of the "skaters" that, much like the fat kid, always got picked last, picked ON (though I didn't have it THAT bad) and generally looked over... That is until we played dodge ball in gym, or my art started going on the walls around school... School isn't like that now, I assume... Honestly, I don't know if I could make it in today's schools.. But as times change, people change.. I miss my middle school days... The principal walked the halls between classes with a PADDLE... IF you happened to be late for class and IF you had to pass him, getting to said class, you might just find yourself getting a bit of a BOOST.. I knew a kid that acquired 54 "swats" in one year.. lol.. a friend of mine... Ahh yes, I remember a teacher that had over 40 paddles hung on the walls of his classroom.. Different kids had made them for him over the years... The movie, Dazed and Confused, yeah, that all happened, I went through school right at the very end of it... It's a shame, because the kids that went to those schools made themselves a FAR better life, just having a little discipline available to them.... Kids today don't know the meaning of discipline..

You have the same idea that Ive been thinking of. this year for me was all about fixing the handling of the car, next year and years to come will be all about engine work. don't waste all your money on your car though, and research a lot before buying any mods! also a good tip whenever something should be easy and you shouldn't need anything else be ready for the fact that you will need more stuff and it will not be easy, and that goes for anything in life.

Im 19 and this happened to me but it was with my first car.. In hs i drove a '00 Ford Mustang.. Cool car for a 16 year old right? Anyway, there was this one kid in my class, and he always was talkin crap about it.. mostly I ignored it but like to point out the fact to him that his super cool car wasn't any better.. You know what his super cool car was.. well it wasn't his but.. he drove it.. It was a five year old Chevrolet Impala.. WHOO! talk about fast.. (being sarcastic). I would just ignore it.. but they probably don't even have a car.. so you can point that out..

some of my friends didn't understand why i wanted a hatch/wagon type of car. they gave me some guff, until a few of them moved. i managed to fit a lot in there. they stopped stopped talking. i paintball, i have a huuuuugggeee gear bag. if i put the 40% back seat down for my bag i can still fit 3 other players, by big sub box, and their stuff no problem. you will soon learn utility> fast and flashy. even though i did get new rims, and i plan on putting in some under and upper glow (for laughs).

School is a tough place, and all the guys talking down your car probably don't have a clue. You have a great car that actually drives great, is safe and sane, well built and can haul an insane amount of stuff. Most of them will eventually appreciate a car that can do that, but for now, just like everyone in the forum said, ignore them and don't let them bother you, they're not worth the trouble.Have fun with your car.

Hey guys - we have those words in the profanity filter for a reason. As for the kids, just ignore them...people who try to make others feel small do so because THEY feel small and want to make themselves feel big. A few years from now, it won't mean a thing.

Sorry man, this is going to always happen, there's not much you can do but ignore it. I'm 30 and still get it once in a while. (why'd you put wheels on THAT? ha ha ha) etc. etc... but I also get compliments from the true Car enthusiasts, just the other day a guy in a really clean Jetta MKIV gave me the thumbs up.If it's performance you're looking for, I'm sorry to say you got the wrong car. but that doesn't mean it can't look nice and sound nice.

This is how you know a TRUE car enthusiast VS one that acts like one.. Someone that can appreciate ALL cars, modded well... Everyone can appreciate a craptastic riced out car for being a craptastic riced out car.. (regardless of love/hate)But someone that can appreciate proper mods on ANY car is true to the game..

yes and it seems the small mods i have done, i have done perfectly and that is what matters, and performance wise, i wanna do just short of uni chip and turbo/supercharger, but things like rims, exhaust, intake, and stuff of that caliber i feel would be cool enough to show off and sound good.
