Anything will work, if you aren't after anything special... I personally feel that doing a proper bedding(pads) and seasoning(rotors) is more important on a daily driven non-performance car... I have used EBC Ultimaxx pads in the past on my Subie and liked them quite well, they are a OEM replacement, that's just a notch above stock.. they had a better bite than the stockers, and didn't really cost that much more than stock... But really, if you aren't doing anything special, you don't need anything special... Look at Baer Brakes in the tech sections (101 or 201, can't remember) I know I might have something with links stuck in the DIY section or maintainence, maybe even here... so many threads.... so many forums.. lol..
I had plenty of pad left on my OEM pads when I replaced tham at 75K miles. The replacement ones I bought were inexpensive, and they wore fast and put out a lot of staining brake dust. After about 50K miles on them, I put the original OEM ones back in and they lasted another 45K miles. I forget what's in there now. I may have bought an upscale set from the parts store, or I may have gone and bought some more of those Toyota OEM pads.At only 74K miles, your pads might be in good shape for a while. Might be worn, depends a lot on how and where you drive.
