Does anyone know if it is possible to move a Cruise Control system from one vibe to another. I am rebuilding a wrecked Vibe and my parts car has Cruise but the main one does not. Any help would be great.Thanks.

Geo,I have 2 wrecked 2003 base models. One is manual the other is an automatic. The automatic is the parts car and it has Cruise Control the manual does not.It looks like the components are present steering column lever and the throtle module that is up by the firewall.Just need to know it there are alot of wiring differences between Vibes that have cruise and ones that don't.Thanks.

Manual Vibe with cruise control has pin switch on the clutch to turn off the cruise when pressing the pedal. You'll have to add it if you don't want to have trouble.
Cruise with a manual transmission? Try to remember that a base vibe has only 130HP, and the torque and HP don't arrive at lowe RPMs. Highway driving in my Base Vibe with Auto, the cruise will have to downshift to keep up to speed when it gets hilly. How are you going to get the Crusie to downshift your 5 speed?Just wondering.KSneptune

How are you going to get the Crusie to downshift your 5 speed? You don't. My 6 spd. GT has cruise. You have to downshift yourself if it's necessary. However, when you push the clutch in, the cruise kicks out. It's a pain, but you deal with it.
Well... No actually. the dash is a mess of wires right now. I'm currently trying to convert the doors on the drivers side to power and add the needed wiring into the dash. Big Big project. I've learned a bit about reading wiring diagrams though. I'll try to attach a pictures of the exterior.Wish my luck on getting it on the road by April 7. Thats when the lease on the Celica ends.
lthe exterior is looking pretty sharp. I hope you can find the time to make a long post about the project, would be very interesting to hear about all the work you had to do..Too bad you are using the power door stuff, I was going to ask if you had any of that stuff left over, good luck with it, hope you have it on the road soon!
