Very impressive. My 50/50 mix has netted a pretty consistent 25 mpg so far with the 2.4L.

Just got back from a 2400 mile trip in my 2.4L automatic. Averaged 28.5 driving around town (Portland, ME) and 34.5 on straight highway...very impressed.
We live our lives by the choices we make. I chose Vibe
The hills in town probably lowered your mpgs. The gearing in the auto 2.4L must be up to the task of saving gas on the highway... 34.5 is great from a good sized engine like that.

My 03 GT 1.8 got 30.12 mpg combined city/highway about 40/60 relatively. This was when I just got it a few weeks ago.

...at 6K miles, I'm averaging about 34 mpg in my '09 Vibe 1.8L auto, with heavy afternoon A/C use (90% highway, 10% city)...no hills here to speak of too.
