Grayish looking floormats?

Post by MSAGRO »

Dye them!Neat, clean interior, armor-alled dash, seats with no gum stuck on them?Woo-hoo! Nice! Except your Vibe floormats that were once black now are kinda gray. Ruins the effect.I dyed mine last nite with RIT Black dye. Took 3 boxes and a washing machine with Hot water.Follow instructions, soak for at least 1 hour in the machine. (Need to soak longer than instruction say because these are nylon. Close the lid of the washer and complete cycle. When done, put them in the dryer for only 20 minutes, not fully dry them, but get them warm to the touch then air dry overnight. Here's the results:

They look great! let us know how they hold up.Also make sure the washer gets rinsed out so all your undies don't come out black.

Billy Mays? I wish I had cocaine in MY system! ;J)The logo threads are shiny satin, coated for shine, I knew for some reason they wouldn't dye.I did the same thing to my Toyota Highlander mats, and the logo didn't dye also.Beemer, I will let you know how they hold up.

That looks amazing.I'm still holding out to find some of the factory all weather mats that someone wants to give me, but I might do this while I wait.
