Blower has a mind of its own

Post by crazy06 »

Blower stops working, but often comes back on after going over a bump. I took out blower and tested direct connect to battery. It worked fine. Reinstalled and it worked for a day. Stopped until I hit a bump and it started working again. Do you think it's the blower, switch, or what? How would you recommend diagnosing the problem? If it matters, I had the blower resistor changed about 3 months ago. Had the common problem of the blower only working on high.

Can't speak from personal experience, but there's a thread here somewhere where that kind of problem was fixed by replacing the blower, and I think another where it was fixed by replacing the brushes in the blower motor, so I vote for thw blower motor. But don't yell at me if you spend the money on a new blower and it doesn't fix the problem

Had the same problem with mine. 04 vibe. Ran the a/c 100% for 2 years in the caribbean. Lots of bumps in the roads. Kicking the bottom of the motor with your foot works to get it started again if it stops. Replaced the motor and all is good now.
