New Guy w/ new car

Post by MajorAD »

Hi all, after driving Nissans,Toy,Honda for so many years I thought I would never drive a domestic let alone a Pontiac!! Well a friend gave me a lift in his Vibe GT from then on I was hooked. Ride, style and handling is impressive and with the incentives to get this car I was at a dealer the same week.Tell me.I got a base 2.4L /5 spd auto with preferred package for 17.8 OTD with tax/tags. is that OK??Too bad I didnt have a clunker could have got the car cheaper.BTW any comments on GMAC financing? All the same I will be a regular here checking out mods I can do. So many questions about this Vibe but for another time, later

Do you suppose Matrix owners tell people they are really driving an American GM car - it is the same as the Pontiac Vibe?

That is one slick ride you have,Gotta get those wheels, is that factory tint you have?!!! BTW it is a 2010 and the dealer sez its the last one pontiac will make. Kinda strange that a nice car like that will end.

i actually don't have any tint, if you take a pic at the right angle it looks like i do but there completely un tinted eight now. i was actually amazed that Pontiac picked the vibe as the first car to spot in production because it seems like the vibe was Pontiac's best seller other then the g series. matrix owners know their actually driving a Toyota its only goes one way,k every part on our vibes say Toyota right on it.cool cool so you got the newest vibe there is. i would love to see lots of pictures.

I've never heard what percentage of the components are built in the USA.Fairly large, considering how much of the product is Toyota sourced. When I took a tour of NUMMI a few months back, the engines/trannies are about 50% from Japan, the other 50% from some other Toyota factory in the US. Many other parts are either built in house (like all the plastics, and much of the metal unibody/sheet metal components) or trucked in (many from California companies). If I recall, a lot of the electronics come from Toyota in Japan directly though.
