Removing Roof rack cross rails.

Post by MSAGRO »

I know you pop the black end cap, but on the front or rear.It seems like on the rear, the antenna base would block removal.Advice and instruction please.Msagro.

unscrew the antenna, pull the 2 roof caps from the rear and slide the cross rails towards the back, you just have to use a little elbow grease to get the rails past the antenna base.

Thanks for the fast answer Kamikaze,One more question.I take a small screwdriver, stick it down between the rubber base gasket and lift up?Where should I position the screwdriver at the base? Left, right, center of the cap as I face the side of the car?

now you need to powdercoat those rails either black or the body color.

if you have a factory xm antenna you cant install/remove original rails. or at least i wasnt able to without snapping the xm antenna. just super glued it back, signal was clear after i glued it. dont use xm anymore anyways, and just canceled my sirius subscription after it was up cuz its too expensive IMO (20some bucks more then i paid last time)but yah just pry up the rear black plastic covers slowly with a screwdriver being careful not to scracth or break anything
