About three years ago I got rid of my 03 AWD Vibe, traded in on a Saturn ION because of slightly better gas mileage, lower monthly payment and a ball-buster of a commute. I have regretted that trade every day since. just a bad move on my part. Finally time to turn in my leased Saturn, the few remaining '09s might fit my budget but according to the dealer websites there isn't one for about 50 miles. The 2010 Vibes just skirt the outer edge of my projected budget, so I didn't really want to get my hopes up. I stop in at the Pontiac dealer nearest me, thinking about possibly a G5. Lo, and behold, my local dealer tells me that they actually do have one 09 left, off inventory because a guy was trying to buy it for his son under the CARS program. Unfortunately for them, the son had apparently let his insurance lapse for ten days last year and thus no longer qualified for CARS.Their loss meant that I gained a 09 bright red 1.4 Vibe, exactly the options I wanted, like it was meant to be. My first mod will be a partial de-badging and adding some gold raygun decals that my wife got me for my birthday. Picts will follow.

Vibes are getting harder to find... you did good. Check the Vin numbers and make sure that 1.4L wasn't dropped in when they ran out of 1.8s and 2.4.s on the production line! Anyone out there looking for a last minute Vibe, I saw one yesterday in Oxford, Maine, Carbon Gray, the last one on the lot. It's a Chevy - Buick - Pontiac dealer. Not sure what engine, 1.8L, 2.4L or 1.4L. But you can probably find out online.

I saw a post at Edmunds saying that GM is now offering $2500 off of 2010 Vibes and sure enough, a quick check of the local dealer site showed $2500 off until August 31st for a 2010 Vibe GT. I guess I should have waited a week!
