I'm so tired of this thing beeping at me for having anything on the seat. Just my backpack with my laptop on it sets it off. So I decided to try disabling it.If you remove the switch on the female side seatbelt, this is what you'll find. I cut the wires and wired them together (bypassing the switch) and apparently Toyota doesn't want you to do that, because it throw an airbag error light. Damn it. Time for plan B.While playing around, I found if you slide the switch all the way in (simulating a buckled belt), the light stays off. I guess I could just slide it down and tape it like that. I'm not really a fan of taping stuff together, though and was hoping for a better way.Anybody else gone down this road with a different resolution?
Buy the male-end of the seatbelt and clip it in when you're driving around with stuff there on the seat. Or take it to the dealer and have them disable it (read your owners manual about all the stuff that's on by default but can be truned off at request!)
