I am looking to add a Pioneer Premier DEH-P310UB receiver and Polk Audio db651 speakers to 2004 Vibe. Is there anything I need to know? Any advice from you all?A few questions:What do I do with the high-mounted tweeters in the door? Will they still be used?Any tricks to mounting this equipment? Is this a good bang-for-the-buck system for the Vibe?I assume I don't need to re-wire the speakers, I can just use the factory wiring, correct? Thanks for the help!

If you purchase from Crutchfield like mentioned above, you get EVERYTHING needed for the install, even instructions... I (and others) have HU install guides here as well...But choices are good choices.. you might want to have a look at the JVC KD-S100 as well on CF... it's a hot deal.. lol.. AFA the stock tweeter, it won't be used.. and I wouldn't recomend using it.. The factory wiring will be fine for this... when you get closer to install time, let me/us know, we can better assist if needed...
Thanks! You're right, I don't want to use the stock high-mounted tweeter, but I don't know how it is wired. If it is wired via a crossover somewhere upstream, I could see that for the front doors the high-range would be sent to the tweeter and mid/low to the main speaker. Is there a crossover built in the Moon&Tunes system somewhere? Or are both speakers getting the full range signal? I don't know how it is wired, any help?I had a similar question about how the stock security system is wired, since it flashes an LED in the stock headunit. I hope that by removing the stock HU I am not disabling the security system, am I?

lol, now i'm chasing you around in 2 threads... The stock mid and tweeter both get full range signals and use a small cap to act as a high pass passive filter.. the line coming out of the amp should be full range.. Do you have a security system, or keyless entry with a LED in the HU?? Mine had the latter of the 2..
Yes, thanks for replying in a couple places. I also took your advice and read the install guides by BlueCrusn and KeithVibe. They both used the Scosche OEM-2, but Crutchfield didn't put that into my order. I am confused by that and don't want to have a bad install or have to re-do it. Great to know that the stock speakers all get the full range and have a filter at the speaker. That means that the new speakers I am putting in will get it all. Thanks!I have the keyless entry stock "security" system with an LED in the HU.Thanks Sublimewind!

When I installed the new speakers and tore out the old, the stock tweeters on the top of the door are still active. You all with the 6-speaker setup who have upgraded, do you disable the tweeter?I installed one of the two front speakers and it didn't fit under the door panel using the stock speaker mount/plastic. Others must have run into this, right? How did you all solve it? I posted this to cohocarl's speaker topic, I think that would be a better place to discuss: http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=785&page=3
