What do you guys think will happen to the Vibe when it ends their line in the end of 2010? Will the price lower so the dealership can get rid or it? or will it rise since they're not making it anymore?
Welcome to GenVibe! It will probably stay the same $ and be renamed as the Chevy Vibe...if that doesn't happen then they will probably lower the price to get rid of them.

My guess is that once the '09's are gone rebates will be implemented on the 2010's. Currently I think there is a $2,500 rebate on the '09's plus $500 dealer incentive.Example - ad in today's paper 2009 Vibe 1.8L MSRP 17,685 [Probably manual with a/c?]Supplier Price $17,069Rebate . . . . . -2,500Subtotal . . . . $14,569Immke Discount -1,000Net $13,569

I wonder if they'll release the turbo diesel engine in the US?

GM will be stopping production of the Vibe in August. So there will be very few around when they do start implementing rebates on 2010 vehicles.Chevy has the HHR for that segment. The Orlando is much larger than the Vibe.
At first, I was excited to see the Orlando (hate the name, but that's what debadging is for) at the Auto Show, as I thought it would be the next-gen of Vibe for GM, should they not make it any more. How eerie it is that they ARE not going to make it any more. But, now that more current photos are on Chevy's site (http://www.chevrolet.com/future-vehicles/orlando/), it reminds me of how disappointed I was in the Mazda5's final design, as well as the Dodge Journey. They're yawners to me. I also know that if I were to ever buy an Orlando, it would have to have EVERY option, as base models now-a-days are awful to look at (smart move on automakers part = more $$$).
The exterior of the Orlando doesn't look too bad I guess. Inside is kinda iffy for me. They need to Have a Calrissian package because that would make it epic with some "creative" debadging.....

If I wanted a pickup truck, I'd buy one. Where is it made? Quote, originally posted by L5K »The exterior of the Orlando doesn't look too bad I guess. Inside is kinda iffy for me. This quote from the article:"...Fuel-efficient power for the Orlando show car comes from a 2.0L turbo-diesel that generates 150 horsepower (112 kW) and a strong 235 lb.-ft. of torque (320 Nm). "conflicts with other news articles I've read that say the automakers have scrapped all their diesel plans. So, where's the engine come from? Hopefully, not Korea.

Whatever is left after that will cease production on August 14th. Couldn't tell you about orders, I've got no idea. But if it hasn't been cut off yet, it will be very soon as we've now got a firm date to cease production of the various models. After that, it will be just Corollas going down the line until whatever is going to happen happens...guess only time will tell for sure.

I actually have Friday off, which is pretty rare for me.

Nothing planned for the public, they aren't even doing tours anymore. They say thats for cost savings, but I don't know. There may be a little farewell celebration with the line being stopped and pictures taken for a short while when the last one rolls off the line as they sometimes do. Especially since its now looking like that will be the last GM vehicle to come out of that place. But I don't know for sure, thats just a guess. And that date could even change between now and then. I'll let you know what I can if anything comes up.

We had mandatory Fridays off for a few months at NUMMI. Also a couple of mandatory weeks off. Things are picking up slightly now, so no more Fridays off, but not sure whats going to happen once we're only rolling Corollas.

So yea AWD and GT are done. Only building base model Vibes now. And lots of them too, about 40% as opposed to 15-20%. Supposedly a good number of them are destined for Canada.
Local dealer stocks seem top heavy with 2.4L. Is that because 2.4L are what are being demanded, or is production of 1.8L's being limited?
