A/C problem on 03 GT

Post by BrownBikePhoto »

I've searched and came up with a few ideas but once people figure out how to fix the problem they leave ya hangin. My A/C clutch will not engage. I checked the fuse and replaced the relay. It engages when I jump the relay in the junction box. The problem must be before the fuse. Tomorrow I'm gonna rig a switch straight to the relay so I have A/C on the way down to the Outer Banks. Once I figure out the problem and how to fix it I'll post a vid or pictures of what I did. Any help would be great.

Check your pressure in the lines, if it's too low then it wont let the clutch engage. Might be the same if it's too high as well. I would check that first and if it's low then have it recharged and you'll be good to go.

I ended up at the dealership today. Freon was low so the pressure switch wouldn't kick on the compressor. They charged it and put some dye in there. The guy said it could of just seeped out over time. So far no leaks! I'm glad I didn't put that switch on now. Cost me 90$ plus the 32$ for the relay I didn't need.

Meh, it's the same for most cars. My compressor clutch literally fell off so I'm on the hunt for a new one
