Can anyone give me some detail tips on removing the front trim panel to access the radio removal? Such as where the clip locations are and if clips or clamps are used and from which direction should I start with?Sometimes when I remove these panels, I break a clip or something similiar. Thanks in advance.
The panel itself is just clipped in, but the passenger airbag light and the hazard switch cables are short and need to be disconected in order to completely remove the panel. Start from the lower drivers or passenger side and pull gently until it pops loose then you can pop the rest and disconnect the hazard and airbag light wires. The radio ant. is similar to the xm satelite cable so if your plan is to switch units, you'll need an adaptor. What am I saying.... these are OE units, you'll need an adaptor for everything!
on the side of the silver trim there's some small gaps. i used a flat head screw driver to pry it open then slowly pop and pull the trim out of the dash. had to disconnect the hazard light button first. i think i also had to untwist the shifter knob off to make room for the trim piece to come out. i kinda removed a lot of the dash myself in search of a rattle i had lol
