Slight wobble on '09 2.4L?

Post by thepachman »

Hi all -I have had my 09 vibe 2.4L for just over a month now, and Im noticing a slight up and down wobble on roads that I feel are not quite as bumpy. As I put my head back to my headrest, it doesn't stay there, but instead bounces off of it. When I look at my keys, they are jiggling much more than I remember happening in any of my other cars.Is this rough of a ride normal and just based on the difference in suspension / tires or could something be wrong? Thanks for the help!

What roads are you driving? What size tires are on your Vibe?Do you have an AWD, Base, or GT Vibe?

It is the tires and suspension more than likely...

But what about them would cause this? It's disconcerting and not something I thought would be normal for a brand new car.

Just the suspension and tire combo... I am pretty sure the 16" steel rims ride better just as the AWD Suspension does.

I would first take it somewhere and have the balance checked... they can also check for out of round... Could be a broken belt in one of the tires.. I doubt it has anything to do with wheels/tire size, not if the tires are mounted and balanced properly..

That's what I was thinking, especially as I test drove one with the same wheels and don't remember it doing that. I'll call the dealership and get it in, hopefully it's just a balance issue or something like that.

Check all 4 tires and see if those little grey lead weights are there... I threw one once in the Sunfire (right front if I recall correctly) and you could feel the wobble in the car and steering. Wal-mart re-balanced it for free.
