Stuck Odometer

New to the site, but a while with my 2003 Vibe. Nary a problem since new but now at 299 999 km, the odometer just stopped. Both trip odometers are still working great. I've driven close to 2000 km since it stopped counting (3 gas tanks worth of highway driving). The GM website is totally useless, so is my local GM dealer. Anyone out there with the same problem? Yup! It will happen to EVERY single Vibe, Matrix & Corolla that reaches that milestone. At least the US version will get 299,999 miles (482,801.6 km) whereas the Canadian version only gets 299,999 km (186,410.7 miles). So the Canadians get screwed in that respect. I am surprised that Toyota would think that 299,999 km [186,410 mi] is the outer longevity limit for their vehicles. Maybe there ought to be ab extra rebate for anyone who reaches 299,999 km - or at least a free odometer replacement.In the "old" days didn't domestics roll over at 100,000 miles? When you saw a 10 year old Buick you didn't know if it had 20,000 miles or 120,000 miles.If we can put a man on the moon we certainly could make electronic odometers roll over at 300,000 miles.

there are places that can program the odometer for you, maybe set it back to zero and start over.I would have hit the limit in November 08 if I had the metric version but with the english units cluster I might have another two or three years to go.

Thanks to all who replied to my stuck odometer problem.I agree that I should be able to find a shop that could reset it to zero, but I remember reading somewhere that they may have to apply a permanent decal or some indication of odometer tampering, consumer protection for resale reasons...
