This one has me stumped for a few weeks now. 09 Vibe GT (so M&T, obviously). I've burned a few MP3 discs using CDBurner XP and they all play fine as far as no missing/corrupted files and all that. The issue I'm running into is, for some reason some albums play out of order. It really does seem to be on an album by album basis. I recently ripped/converted/burned a 4-disc set. I set them up in four different folders. The first disc plays in order, but the next three don't.It's really odd because the files are in order as they should be on the disc. The ID3v1 tags have the proper sequential order data.Of note - although they are out of order, it remains in the SAME "out of order" pattern every time (ie if track 17 is playing first for some reason, track 17 ALWAYS plays first, even if I try burning a new disc). This makes me think there is something in the file itself but I'll be damned if I know what it could be. I've looked at everything from filename all the way down to file creation date and there is zero indication of why the tracks are being reordered like that when played in the car stereo. If I look at the disc after burning in Explorer, everything is fine.I've tried burning with different programs and I've tried burning everything in one main folder rather than breaking it out into subfolders...same problem. As soon as it gets to the problematic album, out of order.I am in the process of re-ripping the problematic discs to give it another shot. I know a solution for this is a longshot but I figured I'd give it a try. It's really frustrating because I've made entire discs with like 6 albums on them, and everything is fine. This issue seems totally random but there has to be some reason behind it.EDIT - updates (ie what else I have tried since posting this after re-ripping the CDs):*Burned the MP3s to a disc with NO tag information.*Burning the MP3s that were encoded with a different MP3 encoder.Still getting the same results. I then just burned the wavs ripped from the original CD to a new CD (audio CD mode, obviously) and as expected it was in proper order. So it may be due to something that happens when the file becomes an MP3, or perhaps when it is burned as an MP3 data disc.
Are there any numbers or symbols at the front of the filename? Those type of characters take presidence, you could always number the files in the sequence you want. I used to have that problem with my Clarion HU in my old s-10.
