Meet in July

Post by ZedTim »

Alright people lets get the ball rolling here. if we start now by picking a date. the sooner we get this started the more time we all have to try and get more vibe's (and I guess a couple matrix) plus we may be able to get some interesting things. I know a few people at GM that could possibly pull some strings to get us some goods for the vibe. we could turn this into an event instead of a gathering but we have to pull together for it.

I'm in. Tell me what to do. BIG_RED is here to help.According to the Member List, we have 90 Vibe users in Ontario (at least 90 that filled out their profile correctly). That means, that we have the opportunity to make this a really good meet if we put our heads together.

Well, how about July 26th at 3 PM....at uhm....If you drive all the way down Mississauga Road in Mississauga you end up at the lake. Tons of parking....if we organize it properly, we could most likely get a cooler with some drinks in it, so that we don't have to worry about finding a Tim Horton's. Even if we don't choose this spot, a nice place by the lake with lots of parking would be great.Just an idea.

I was thinking around the lake too and I know several places right through to Scarborough. as for the 26th that would be fine with me but lets get some more input, lets hear what others want then we can pick a place. I'm good I will pretty well drive anywhere but others aren't as nice! heheso come on people INPUT!!!

I agree completely there. I was looking for more date then anything, it's going to be at the lake somewhere (well if I have my way that is) and apparently a couple others way as well

What about Wasaga Beach? If the Corvette Club can have it, why not the Vibe? Afterall, if no one shows up, we just lie in the sun and enjoy a warm day checking out women....uhm and Juliana you can look at your husband (hahahahahaha kidding)....but what about Wasaga Beach?

I should be able to make it in July too. I was sad that I didn't have my Vibe yet when you all met last weekend. The dealer said that I will definitely be getting my Vibe tomorrow. A beach would be nice, but the traffic going up to Wasaga beach can be pretty bad on a Saturday in the summer.RoundUp

I would have to agree with Round up on this one. don't get me wrong I love an excuse to go for a cruise in my baby! but at the same time the last time I went up there on a Saturday it took me over 3 hours! I think we should stick to the GTA and let this even grow before expanding that far. Besides going up there I might have a hard time keeping my eyes on the cars if you know what I mean! lol

That is why you drive up to Wasage Beach at 8 AM. That way you get a good spot to park and it doesn't take you forever to get there. However, I agree that not everyone will be able/willing to drive all the way to Wasaga Beach. So, I will compromise and say let's not go past Oakville (to the west) and no further than Pickering (to the east) unless there is a place that just everyone must see.

I live in Barrie and I don't want to go to Wasaga! Why don't you guys come up here? It's an easy drive up the 400, we could meet at my office which is right in the south end as you come into the city, we have a nice new parking lot with tons of space and then maybe we go for a cruise down by the lake. Takes me 30 minutes to get from the 400/407 to my office. Real easy!Thoughts?

I don't know about Barrie but I like the idea of a cruise after the meet, I think we could really turn some heads. although I have come up with a little problem here. with it being a Saturday in july all the beaches around are going to be full of people, which is fine but where are we going to park the cars?

True. I was thinking about your suggestions in Scarborough and Toronto and I know for a fact that those parking lots will be packed. There is no way that we can park 7 or more Vibes in a row unless we get there real early (and I mean before dawn). Even the parks in Mississauga are going to get full very quickly. However, I do agree that we should do a cruise of some sort. I mean, 7+ Vibes in a row will make people's heads turn...especially if it is a sunny day and all the cars are clean.

not a bad Idea except I really don't want my car parked beside a sunchicken or crapalier Okay so far can we agree on the 26th?? as long as that works for the most then that will be our date, now on to this little problem of finding somewhere. I know a few people that work for scarb parks and rec. I was talking to them tonight and if we come up with something soon they may be able to close off a parking lot here or there for us.. any views?

Sounds good to me. I have posted the meet for July at Matrix/Vibe.net. http://www.matrixvibe.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2970 I will update it as we find out the information. I hope this works. 100 people is going to be a lot... I am counting 60 members at Matrix/Vibe.net from Ontario, but there will be some overlapping between there and this site.

That's actually not a bad idea. Cobourg's just a little over an hour from T.O. and it's not a bad drive. I went to Rice Lake a few weekends last summer and I can't remember there being much traffic in that direction along the 401. I don't mind driving far, as long as it's not stop and go traffic. But I guess it depends on the people coming from the south west as well.

Cobourg sounds great to me. There is a lot of great beach, plenty of parking, at least one restaraunt and I have seen several semi-car show collections of vehicles there on ocassion....

Finally, our first Matrix participant. Mista, you go and get as many other Matrix' that you know (i.e. from the meet you guys had last month at KC) and maybe we can get the required numbers together by the Meet date.

Hi all you TO Vibe owners: Big Red, thanks for the invite to your meet. We won't be able to make it, though. It would take us 2 days to drive to Toronto. We are planning to go to Winnipeg during that time anyway. I will spend my time on the lookout for Vibes (maybe I will count the number of Vibes I see on the road). All I can say is what an awesome vehicle. I love it!! So comfortable and easy to drive. TTFN

To all you Vibe owners out there

Post by Big_Red »

Okay People......If we want to have Matrix's at our meet in July, we will have to participate with one of their meets as well. MistaMatrix made me responsible for the Vibe group to attend this meet (see the information below). Please let me know ASAP if you are able to attend. Maybe we can meet before at the Tim Horton's at Weston Rd where we had our last meet and then go from there as a convoy to KC. Your thoughts please Again, we're just gonna piggyback along with the Toyota Nation meet which will occur: Saturday.May31.2003 @ 8.00pm Kennedy Commons (Kennedy/401) Hopefully, we'll get close to a dozen cars this time out.

I haven't got the bulbs in the fogs yet but I should by the weekend. it looks funny right now because the fogs are the same colour as the old head lights and well the new lights are much brighter.

I attended the ToyotaNation meet last Saturday.....I was however quite dissappointed having been the only Vibe in the bunch (see pic below) (pic courtesy of MistaMatrix)The next time we have a meet, it would be nice to get the Vibe/Matrix owners together at the same time. After all, it is nearly the same car.Just a thought.

well im in too.. where is that spot in milton? how far from newmarket? july 26th sounds pretty good to me... better that it is towards the end of the month i think... definatly have to find some place relatively central for all... i would say some where in the middle of barrie, london (southwestern ont) and probably as far east as peterborough.... i cant imagine to many from ottawa will make the journey... so i guess that pretty much leaves t.o as the most probable place........maybe eventually a larger over all meet could incorperate quebec and ontario!..

IF Michigan can get 30 cars, we in the GTA should be able to run up the same amount. I was seriously thinking of printing off some of these flyers and stick them on any Vibe and Matrix that I see, just to drum up support for our meet in 3 weeks. ZedTim still has not replied as to the exact details of our meet (which is really not making me happy). It would be a shame that if this meet fell through.

Slowbourg as a friend of mine calls it (he used to live there). I've been there twice - once to visit my, ahem, friend and once for Christmas dinner. Other times I've just driven through on the way to the big smoke. I might be able to attend if it were in Cobourg.
