I bet I caught you off guard with that title huh? I recently was forced to trade in my bright yellow H2... yeah yeah... go ahead and shoot me now! I needed something more economical to pay off attorney bills. A dealer that was willing to take the H2 off my hands for what I owed pointed me to a 2005 platinum base vibe with moon and tunes package. I bought it that night at a decent price, but mostly to get out of my previous huge car note. The next day I found this forum and have been reading it everyday since.I absolutely love my vibe and no longer feel like i am settling at all!!!... with one exception... I HATE AUTOMATICS!!! Ive spent some time trying to find an 03-05 manual... hopefully a GT with sunroof in black, but I really haven't had much luck at all. One dealer did several nationwide searches for me but couldn't find a single car that met my criteria or even most of it... and that was looking at auctions too!Do you guys own all of the sweet vibes or what? Im not going to be able to drive my auto stock much longer, but im trying to hold off till my searches are exhausted. Any suggestions? ps - I already have my CAI enroute and Bday money in hand for a magnaflow and maybe Teins (have a friend with shop tools in his home garage!)... but I really want a stick!!!
I remember back in '04 when I was car shopping, I told the salesman that it HAD to be stick! You could see it in his eyes "NUTS!!!!" But he managed to find what I was looking for, bought the car the next day. So a couple of weeks ago, after testdriving various brands and overoptioned models from various dealers, I went back to the same guy who sold me the Sunfire and went shopping through the computer of Vibes throughout Canada. There was only 1 of what I wanted in the whole country but unfortunatly I lost that bidding war. But in the showroom (at the back) was a nearly identical Vibe, -1 option to what I wanted. Bought it the next day!
The GT is the way to go. I'm on my 4th Vibe, but 1st GT and I'm going to keep it a very long time! Here's one in Alexandria, VA, shows to be 55 miles from your area: http://www.cars.com/go/search/...=trueThat string may not work, but you can do a search on cars.com yourself. Just go to advanced search, select the Vibes from 2003-2006 and type "GT" in the keyword area. I posted a pic of the one listed above, the dealer name is Dealer: Alexandria Chevy Buick Pontiac GMC Saturn Call: 888-837-8046 Looked real nice, only 17K miles and $12,888.There are a lot that come up under the keyword GT search, but only the ones that are 6 speed are GT's. Cars.com has a faulty posting method for Vibes and you have to look carefully.
Good Grief! I just looked at the Carfax on this Vibe and it is spotless. And the dealer has had it for sale since 10/2006! I'll bet they'll take an offer on it...... If I were there, I'd snatch it up.
Pick up a gt, they are a lot more entertaining Abyss with a sunroof shouldn't be too hard to find.
'04 lava GTSRI, Progress rear sway bar, Infinity reference backs, components in the front, Infinity Kappa 124.7w sub, Alphasonik 600rms@2ohms for the sub, alpine head unit, worst paint ever!
OK... here is a pic from my phone! I have already contacted that dealership too. It is more than I want to spend, but if it has been there a while... I may be able to get a deal... he might not want to take on another one though!
In hopes of puting that dealership out of business, please don't buy it or from them. They are the ones who incorrectly replaced my axle and caused an accident. The only vehicle I want to see pull up to their front door is a UPS truck deliving the news that it is time for them to pack up and leave town. ............keeping a watchful eye from the Delta Quadrant.
he doesn't have to buy it from them, he simply has to go to his local dealer and ask them to have it transfered to his dealership. His dealership will buy it transport it and no need to worry about the bad dealership.

Which dealership is the problem... there are two actually combining, and I am talking to reps at both simultaneously! Which should I buy from and which should I avoid??? I am going to test drive tonight!!!I posted my current vibe pic and no one has said a word... where are the not so angry mobs!!!ps - the cosmo racing CAI for base model wont work for GT right? Mine is arriving tomorrow... might be in a nice place to not need it before it gets here! wonder if they return...
Okay, that's a nice looking car! I see your Hummer in the background, lol. Too bad that Vibe doesn't have the stick - it's gorgeous.

Thanks! It really is a gorgeous and clean car! No the Hummer didn't have a stick... but it did have a ferocious thirsty roar when you leaned into it! I am on my way to the dealer to check that GT out... actually the dealer has had possession of it since '04!!!! I hope this works out well!
Well, that didnt go well... I got there with appointments with 2 separate sales people... sneaky i know! One of the mechanics took the vehicle home to show his wife??? The manager was so apologetic... an hour and a half drive for nothing. They have already stated that they will pay off my current vibe in full and get me a great deal on the GT... as long as the employee doesn't buy it. What do you guys think about that? I mean... i guess the employee gets special benefits for working there... but I had appointments setup...They will be calling in the morning... what price should I offer (completely out the door after everything is accounted for)???
"We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone" - One of the most useful tools any business uses and yes, employees ALWAYS get some sort of special treatment! BUT if the employee didn't place a deposit on the car, get your pre-approval from the bank and take posession of the car as fast as possible (right under said employees nose if possible)! Ask $500 to $1000 less then what their deal is and say you have cash-in-hand and can take the vehicle today. Since you're competing for this vehicle, speed is everything so don't delay....(trust me, I know)

wow. lol. the dealer had my 03 VGT for almost 9 months before they finally sold it for $13K 4 yrs ago! No one wanted it... even had custom leather interior and heated seats installed. GL finding exactly what you want. You'll find MT are harder and harder to find these days. and I agree, the AT in the base Vibe was way too gutless for my liking.
dutch, again, if you are going to the dealer at Rt 1 and Ft. Hunt, you are playing with a basket of venomous snakes. Don't waste your time with them; find your car somewhere else.
Thanks again for everyone's help! Looks like I have made a remote deal with a dealer in NC for an 05 Neptune GT!!! I should be going to finish the transaction this weekend and I will of course post pics!I wonder if I can send back the base model Cosmos CAI for refund? I think so if I pay shipping and get an RMA...Will likely start off with an Injen CAI... I spent the money on the better car... might as well get the better intake... arguments or defenses?2nd Mod will likely be to paint both rims and calipers... (at least until the treads wear on the new tires)... thinking either black or gunmetal for the rims, but not sure about the cals... maybe blue... not sure... suggestions?
Good luck with that. Finding stick Vibes aren't easy, harder still if you want one with a stick and well optioned. I've had two stick ones, both times looked for a GT, but neither time found one, and that was with about a 300 mile radius search from my home dealership.
I searched the whole country! I had maybe 5 choices. Fortunately this one is only 5 hours from my house, and they are working with me to offload the auto i have now... since im obviously slightly upside down purchasing it 2 weeks ago. There is a really nice one in Idaho... body work already done!~ Just too far, and they werent willing to give me a solid estimate on the trade in... which is fair enough, they have to make money too.
I got it!!!!! I just walked in the door from a crazy weekend of driving... total of 30 hours on the road, between dropping off and picking up the kids for their visitation in TN and then booking it to the NC coast to trade in my auto for an 05 GT in Neptune... even got a suprize when I got there.... SUNROOF!!!! which wasnt mentioned at all on the original post. Obviously I will get pics up tmw! and can I just say... WOW on the GT... totally different driving experience! I LOVE IT!

I'm thrilled for you dutch, and I'm even more thrilled that you didn't put any money in the pocket of that loser dealership in Alexandria. Drive safe and enjoy the view!!
Gongrats on the GT, same way I felt about mine after I traded up. Sounds like a little Formula 1 car, especially in the long tunnel in Zion National Park in UT. I love the super kick it gives at the 6500 RPM crossover. Much more aggressive than the Honda VTEC.
Thanks guys! I am enjoying the GT so much! Also, just wanted to report the great customer service with Paul at Cosmo has been great!I ordered the base CAI from them weeks ago, and inquired about sending it back to get the GT model, as it supports the air pump or something like that. He was able to send me the needed parts to upgrade what I have for $15 shipped! Now I just have to wait the long shipping time before putting it in!!!
