I just got done taking the 2010 Equinox for a test drive. I drove a FWD 4 cylinder. This has direct injection, 182 hp. Even with the a/c on, it felt plenty peppy with a single passenger. EPA hwy rating of 32. My passenger has a 2007 Vibe, and agreed that vehicle was much quieter then Vibe. This may replace my wife's 2007 Vue.
The Vibe 26 city 31 Hwy still appeals to me more than the 22 city 32 hwy of the Equinox as I do mostly city driving. Still that is good for a 2.4L pulling about 4,800 lbs curb wt.Couldn't find much on what was std - certainly a/c and at. Probably power windows and remote keyless entry.

I plan to trade in the Vibe for a 2010 Equinox. Would like a little more room than the Vibe, and it seems to fill the bill. I was hoping the new Vibe would have been bigger in the cargo area instead of smaller. I'll have to see what kind of a deal I can get. Vibe is a lame duck vehicle now.
How is it trying to pilot the thing around parking lots? The old ones had a huge turning radius. The fuel mileage is alright... Finally, a four cylinder.

I felt that it drove very similar to the Vibe from a steering perspective. Did not get much "parking lot" time, as it was a circular drive that we departed and returned. I am currently driving a Lucerne, and previous months drove an Acadia and G8, and felt like it drove like a much smaller vehicle than any of these. Active noise cancellation - sort of like an anti-odor spray. The noise from the 4 cyl is still generated, it is just cancelled out via an opposing noise. I wonder how much of that stuff is on the more basic model. I like my power outside mirrors (preferably heated), remote keyless entry, and cruise control.I noted on Edmunds that fleet orders can omit the OnStar and XM Radio - saves a couple hundred bucks.
