Gas Door Release

Post by Wolfman213 »

Lately I've been knocking the gas door release non-stop. Not that it's a big thing, but it irritates me when I look out the mirror and there's the door just flapping away. Has anyone rigged up anything before to go around the release lever or something else to prevent accidental release?

Never been an issue, but now I know how to correct it if it ever does.

Yeah, but I also think it's how I position my feet too, bc I always pay attention when I'm backing up to see if I hit it or not, but it tends to happen during my drive. I thought that maybe the "click" part was wore out, but it makes a solid click every time i shut it.

There is a big rubber footpad on the upper left part of the footwell. Try that out. It's not the same as sitting on your couch with a Mad Cats driving kit! LOL.

I've spent a disturbingly large amount of time driving my Vibe, and have never, ever done this.

I've never done this either, mind you, the left foot either is using the clutch or on the dead pedal waiting to use the clutch... But I guess if you drive a slushbox in flipflops you might get something caught.

Thanks!!as my dad would say. "K.I.S.S" Keep it simple stupid. Sometimes it's the easy things that we seem to over analize. It's kinda like a first time computer owner calling in to the help line asking why his computer won't start up. The tech on the phone asked, well did you plug it in to the wall. Customer says, plug it in? What? How?

i just have a funky way of sitting and and since my foot is very close to the release, tapping to the music just adds to the problemahh yes, I used to work at a computer call center so I know what ya mean now. it was actually funny how many people got mad and irritated when I asked them to check those simply things and then sound humbled when they realize they didn't have anything plugged in lol.
