Rear wiper is dead on my 03 base level vibe.

Post by joash »

Well, my rear wiper is dead. When we try to use it it makes a ticking noise and nothing else.. No heat or anything like that, it just ticks and moves not. So I took a look at it and it doesn't look like a difficult repair, as long as I don't screw up the defroster. So I noticed a few other people have had to do this repair on their vibes. Any advice on stuff to watch out for? Do you have the part number for the motor? Is it a Toyota part or a Pontiac part?thanks!joash

I took mine off once, can't rememebr why, maybe I was just bored and wanted to explore. If I rememebr right, it's pretty straightforward. Sorry I can't help with the part number, don't even know if it's the same part between Vibe and matrix. Seems likely, but I can't say for sure. Seems liek a part that would survive in a wreck, so it might be worth looking for a used/junkyard one. Hey, how about asking David if he's got an extra? see http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=37786Some people have had issues with the thing getting gunked up with salt and other stuff. Might be worth trying to clean it up really well, lots of wd40 , maybe you'll get lucky and it will recover.
