No I'm not dropping in figures and test data here. The story is that I was driving home from work in traffic and in the other lane I saw a pretty nasty 3 car pileup. A big Lexus LX570 was rear-ended by a 2009 Vibe which was rear-ended by a VW or Audi (can't quite recall, it was a 4 door sedan). The Lexus was kinda messed in the back, the sedan at the end was banged up good. But the Vibe, the front passenger side of the car from the bumper to the windsheild was destroyed, crumpled and crunched. The drivers side was banged in a bunch of spots, and the rear passenger side was banged in and hit up good. All in all def. had to be a total loss. It appeared he nailed the Lexus or was pushed into it by the guy behind him and he got pushed or swerved into the guard rail. Anyways, I noticed all airbags had deployed and the side curtains were down too. What I also noticed was the guy was standing outside his Vibe looking to be fine with no crazy injuries. Let me tell you his car was pretty destroyed all around but having had a run in with a big Lexus SUV that thing took a beating and kept the guy safe.Oh, I would have taken a picture but I didnt want to risk an accident myself.
I'd feel safer if we had some decent DUI laws and some decent cops to enforce them....The parking lot at one of our local pubs has parking for 50 cars, and is usually full late in the evening to midnight... and of course none of the drivers would dream of driving drunk....
