Rear driver side leak

Post by smcandrew »

'03 Vibe w/sunroof *just* started to have a wet floorboard/carpet behind the driver seat where rear pass would sit. Driver seat floor in front is not wet. Major rain in our area lately. First owner, never had water issues (in spite of rain) before. Have read many posts about rear passenger floorboard water issues, but few on driver side. Your suggestions/tips very welcome- thx in advance.

Place hvac system on outside air (not recirc), turn fan on high, close all windows and doors, take a lit cigar/cigarette or just the flame of a lighter and pass it around all door and moon roof seals. The flame/smoke will move when it passed over the leak, obviously this will work best inside of a garage where there is no air movement. Note; do not run vehicle inside a closed garage Once you find the leak you can inspect the offending sealing surfaces and make the repairs.Just my method...others may vary.good luck

check to see if there's a leaf or splinter of wood or something inbetween the sunroof and seal.
