Vibe Sales Data question

Post by ParknVibe »

Could anyone tell me how the Vibe has been selling since the beginning of this year? Or, where can I find such current information? I know I seen it here a while ago. Is the Vibe Pontiac best selling car? Thanks,

I posted some info a couple months ago - but I never can figure out how to "search" this site. I think that Vibe is the current sales leader at Pontiac - about 1/3 of their sales as I remember. That and 99 cents will get you a cup of coffee at McDonald's.I saw something in the Wall St Jrl just a few days ago - Pontiac sales for the past year were about 143,000 and Buick 87,000 - but I don't know whether that was for 2008 or the 12 months ending in some month of 2009. Point being that while Vibe sales may be leading the Pontiac numbers, the volume is still pretty low. Even at 10 mil a year vehicle sales, 50,000 is 1/2 of 1%. On the other hand, I am sure there are at least 200 models being sold among all car companies so Vibe holds its own. Many years ago I remember reading an article that said the problem with the auto industry was that there were too many models - to be efficient needed to curtail that number. Since then I am sure the number of models has at least doubled as that was before Kia, Hyndai Lexus, etc. and allof the models added by the likes of Toyota and Honda.

Here's a link to the current (Deliveries through May 31, 2009) General Motors monthly 'sales' report. It shows current month and current year-to-date data for all GM domestic cars and trucks --> http://media.gm.com/servlet/Ga...54740media.gm.com has links to pretty much everything GM releases about GM divisions worldwide.

My 2003 Vibe Base Auto 2-tone Salsa "SalsaWagon" was built in May 2002. I acquired it in Feb 2004/Traded it in on a 2016 Honda HR-V in Feb 2018.

media.gm.com reports are good for tracking trends and such, but the reports there only put numbers on US car sales. We had been tracking vibe sales every month in http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=7726 but those numbers do not include any Vibes sold in Canada or other non-USA countries

For the Pontiac division, the Vibe was second in 2008 to the G6, and currently in third to the G6 and G8 for 2009.I also put the monthly and cytd numbers in the other thread.
