will 16 inch snows work when my car came with 17 inch?

im having trouble finding used 17inch snows,,,i can find lots of 16 inch snows on rims in my area,,but my car came factory with 17 inch rims,,will the 16inch work?will my spedometer be off if i switch to 16 inch?

Most Vibe's came with 16" rims, the 17" rims were an option. If you get some 16" rims, you just need to get a lil larger tires to compensate for the difference in the rim size. If you go into the Rims and Tires section, there is a good tire size calculator that you can enter in your current tire size and it will tell you a good size to go with for the smaller rims to compensate the difference and keep everything correct.Its just beginning to be summer... why are you already thinking about snow tires

I bought aftermarket wheels and tires in 2005 using the factory 17" tire size. This winter, with my front tires down to the wear bars, I put the original crappy but unused 16" stock steel wheels and Continentals and used them as snow tires without problems.

i know i can use 16s but will the black steel winter rim fit my car,,,ive heard somewhere that the vibe gt brake calipers are bigger than stock and might rub??
