Circuit City Rebate Arrived - never expected that!

Post by jake75 »

I think there were others here awaiting their Circuit City Rebate(s) who had given up in light of their bankruptcy.Well today I got a $30 rebate check for the Logitech QuickCam I bought in late December 2008.I suspect these claims were held up due the bankruptcy but payment was finally approved by the court. There is at least one legal theory justifying placing such claims ahead of general creditors.

But that was when CC was both solvent and still in business.I got an e-mail in early Feb. saying that the rebate was approved and I would be getting my check shortly. When it didn't arrive I did a google search and discovered that many were in the same boat.. The Logitech website even had a a notice that they were not responsible for the Circuit City rebates on their products. I would think it was Logitech money sponsoring that rebate. I am sure Logitech was owed money by Circuit City and perhaps that was their way of trying to get some of it back.
