sorry shoulda stated my reason....safetys my overall goaltoo many times being involved in emergency services the vibe is stopped in middle of road or on side (directing traffic, attending to other emergency events or house calls)figured be good to have jambs reflecting that way less likely a car passing me being impatient instead of stopping to see what im doing dfoesnt take the door off

Having personally spent time riding an ambulance, I understand the concern and want for safety. Just think for a minute, how often do you leave your doors open at the scene? Do you think the reflective tape is going to attract more attention than the flashing lights? My vote would be to stay away from it.

depends on how the intersection/flow of traffic needs to go....in that last picture the yellow arrows are on my drivers door which is actually open and was that way for a few hours...remember im not actually using tape...it look just like everyone elses vibe until light reflected upon it

Looking at the photos you posted, if someone was coming along and missed all of the flashing lights, ambulances, tape, emergency workers, reflective strips on the vibe, etc, I'm not sure having reflective paint on your door jambs would make much difference. On second thought, I'd do it if your job paid for it

HI,I know that emergency workers feel that the flashing lights = a degree of safety, and you are correct, you are noticed, it is obvious that something is happening.....BUT..... In the dead of night, Dark with no or few street lights...The flashing lights of today are SO BRIGHT and SO INTENSE and SO BLINDING that I often cannot tell what is in front of me!!!!I feel that I am driving into a bunch of strobe lights which have been designed to blind drivers several times a second, almost continuously. Is there a cop standing in the road telling me to stop?? Hope not for all I'll be able to see is a shadow if I'm lucky. If he's smart he's got reflective clothing on so he will reflect my headlights. Coming upon an emergency scene at night it is almost always very difficult to see not only what is happening but where I should go.There really should be a less intense night setting for these strobes and flashing lights. While they are fine in the intense light of day it is a very different story at night. Yes, I am getting older, I am well aware of that fact but I am far from being old and my vision is still quite good, even at night.Just a thought, I wonder if anyone else has this issue or is it only me?Dave

Instead of painting with reflective paint, why not get some LEDs wired up so when you open the door a red or yellow or whatever color LED comes on or flashes. Wouldn't be hard to install. Superbrightleds sells thin stips of LEDs

They, superbrightleds.com, also sell blinking leds. I haven't purchased any yet so I can't tell you what rate etc about them, but that option is there as well.

Agree... bright flashing LEDs... exactly what I would do. The only concern I would have... with more flashing lights on your Vibe, you will be running the risk of inducing seizures to everyone in the vicinity. Make sure you're not at risk yourself! In any event, as your pictures show, it's really tough to pick out your Vibe in the dark. Make sure you close your car doors anyway, to avoid any extra chance of accident. Just like an open filing cabinet in an office setting, an open car door will increase the risk of injury or damage to or by someone rushing by. Safety First, above all!
