Everyone said clutches are bad on GT's. So at 70k miles it went out. I replaced it and now at 112k miles again it went out. And again I am going with a aftermarket clutch. It's good that even though I haven't taken care of the car this is the only thing that has gone wrong with it. But still, AGAIN I have to replace it. Well not me but a local mechanic has to replace it. Anyone replace their clutch more then once?
I replaced the clutch in mine when I had to replace the tranny at 75K miles, even though there was plenty of pad left on ti, I figured while it was apart, might as well. I put in a cheap autozone one, which was a mistake. had to replace that after about 100K miles, went with an OEM one again.but I have a base, not a clutch eating lift demon
I'm just over 61K on my 2003 GT and wondering when the clutch is going to start wearing out on me. It's feeling a little bit like I've either got a worn motor mount or the early stages of clutch wear, since it feels like it hiccups/slips a little between 3500-5000 rpm. My only other guess is that it could be bounce from the stock motor mounts wearing. I'd love to throw a set of urethane inserts in the mounts to reduce/eliminate that, but haven't had the chance yet.
