Where is the amp located? 09 Monsoon 320w sound system with sub

Post by Vibe2009 »

So where is this 320w amp location?A ebayer is selling this monsoon sub but I am unsure if it includes the amp or not... is it build into the sub? or in the headunit? or is it located under a sit or something else?

The amp is supposed to be under the passenger seat like the 1st gens, it should be under a plastic cover.not sure if they use a different amp or not but that is where the sub signal will come from. the car should be wired for the sub however as it is cheaper for the factory as they only need the one harness for the cars interior.Take off the interior panel where the factory woofer mounts and see if there is a unused plug hanging around. When you find it use a digital multimeter to see if there is signal coming from the plug. You could probably use a speaker but I would not recommend it as in case the plug is putting out 12 volts constantly when that car is on the speaker wont like it. If the voltage changes then it is a signal driven wire. If there are multiple wires on the plug then there will probably be a separate amplifier for the woofer and all connections would be made at the plug.Aron
