Clutch switch making noise

Post by PMC »

I'm 4 months into my new vibe and I'm noticing the switch on the clutch more and more. When I depress the clutch pedal, you can clealy hear the click from the switch. It gets quite annoying actually to hear it click every time you clutch. I took it in to the dealer (a couple other minor other things to look at) and they said that's normal. There isn't even anything they can lubricate in order to quieten it down.I'm curious if everyone else has this same click and I'm just being too sensitive.

did you say, lets go to a manual vibe on the lot and see if it does it? if one on their lot doesnt then you have an argument.

That was the first thing I asked when I got it back. Unfortunately they have no standards on the lot, I had to order mine specially (small town where apparently everyone is lazy and likes driving autos)

I've had my '09 for nearly 1 year now and the clutch seems quiet and smooth. I've haven't experienced anything like you're describing.Hopefully it's a quick, cheap fix.

I sometimes here a light click sound when shifting in the lower gears, with the window open and the radio off. Other than that the clutch is smooth and quiet. I don't think it is an issue. The rest of the car is so quiet that the little sounds stand out that much more.

This click is louder than what you described. You can hear it with the radio on, in any gear, any time you press in the peddle. Next time it goes in for something I'll make them take a look at it again, I feel silly brining it in for just that. Maybe by then they'll have a standard on the lot that I can show them.
