How do I change the time setting?

Post by 808 Vibes »

Is there a way to set the posts and IM's to my time? The time stamps on everything is always off. Thank you

first log in, then "My Profile" just above the "You are logged in as..." , "User Options" is top of the right column, 2nd option is "Your Time Zone". just click save and you are done. although this will only show the posts in your time if you are logged in.
None. Vibe is gone.

It's about 11:49 AM local time here in MD, and I set my optipons for time zone Hawaii (GMT-10) and the forum said it was 6:49 AM. (it's 5:49 AM in Hawaii) There does not seem to be a daylight savings time option. Maybe the system takes Daylight Savings Time into account, but not for Hawaii who doesn't play that game. So, HPL, if the time stamps are reading an hour fast, then set you time zone to be Midway Island, Samoa. If that fixes it for you, just remember to set it back to Hawaii in the fall when the server goes back to standard time.

The problem is the time zone setting that you're using. Try Twilight Zone. That should be appropriate.

Thank you When you say "always off", do you mean always today, or always throughout the year? I verified that the server time is correct and that it's using the right daylight savings rules, but it looks like the forum software just applies a fixed offset, so I'm guessing that both Hawaii and Arizona will be an hour off for half the year. If you're always an hour off at all times of the year, then that sounds like something screwed up with the software, but that's an easy fix of adjusting your time zone.I guess for now you'll have to change to GMT-11 until DST ends.

one more good reason to abolish the use of DST.
