Hum... this is interesting because my Vibe seems to not shift right sometimes. I figured it was just my imagination, but it looks like it might not be.

For the first few thousand miles I was getting grind at a certain RPM when acceleratiing from a stop. I'm thinking the manual transmission locks you out of particular gears at a certain speed or rpm but I'm not too sure
this is all I found on the XRS on Edmunds. It is not the same TSB number as what you are referring to:Component Description:1. DIGITAL INSTRUMENT PANEL Bulletin Number: TSB-0047-09 Bulletin Date: Jan 2009 Vehicle: 2,009 Toyota Corolla Summary:TOYOTA: MULTIPLE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED, VEHICLE NOT SHIFTING FROM PARK TO DRIVE, AND OTHER ACCESSORIES BECOMING INOPERATIVE AFTER VEHICLE HAS COLD SOAKED IN SUBFREEZING AMBIENT AIR TEMPERATURES. ( NHTSA ITEM NUMBER - 10028225 )
the only weird problem was whenever i come to a stop i hear a click sound outside and sometimes when stopping the car will jerk a bit. that was when i first got the car and now that i have almost 10,000 miles on it i don't notice it anymore. actually i think it went away around 5,000 miles or so.
lowincash-I had the same problem of my Vibe jerking a bit upon an abrupt stop. I actually had the dealership look at it, and they found nothing wrong. I haven't noticed it much since, either. Hmm...
i spoke to my dealership today and they said the problem is actually a Toyota problem. both Matrix and Corolla are having the same issues. looks like until Toyota figures out whats going on the Vibes are not going to have a fix? my big concern is there will have to be a mass public campagne to get this issue resolved. clearly its going to cost alot of money to fix it since it is so rampant. i think its wishful thinking to believe the problem will just go away after 5000kms. if it does your likely just one of the lucky ones.....maybe even work for GM or Toyota? i think we should keep posting and getting info out there where possible. other than this issue i love my 09 2.4L vibe and hope for a fix soon.
mostly off topic, but for what it's worth, TSBs and recalls are separate things. A TSB is guidance from corporate to service centers on how to correct a particular problem. TSBs get addressed only if an owner seeks dealer service help in correcting the problem the TSB covers. The cost of correcting the problem descirbed ina TSB is only covered under warranty if the overall vehicle warranty would cover such repairs. Implementing a TSB on a car out of warranty woudl be on the owners dime the same as any other normal dealer service work.A recall is a correction to a safety issue deemed critical, and corporate will seek out owners to advise them to get the problem corrected, and corporate will pay the dealer to perform the correction independent of the warranty status of the vehicle, so a recall fix is free to the owner always. If the issue is on 09+, then most of them should still be under warranty anyway.
hmm yes i had the TSB done as well and it was lessened but not gone. like post earlier i also get the click....or clunk right before the jerking on the downshift. are you confident the problem is going to go away after 5000 or so kms? i'm really nervous about the whole thing and can't seem to get any answers from GM that there is a fix on the way. joatman how many miles you have on your vibe?
