Head unit wiring question.

It's 3:45 and I may be delirious, but I need help with wiring up my new clarion head unit.I used a scosche gmt2049 dash kitand a scosche GM035 wiring connector.and 2 issues.1) the harness is split and I had to cut off one side, leaving several doubled up leads. they used 2 harneses tied together as a universal I assume. What should I do to these stubs to prevent a short?2) and this is the biggest issueI have the speakers and all of the "obvious" wires tied together but I am down to the last e major ones, and I don't know which goes to which.the clarion end has a)yellow wire(memory backup lead) with a (15A fuse)b) yellow wire (bus power lead) with a (3A fuse)c) orange illumination leadbut the Gm035 harness has a)yellow (012 v+) battery/ constantb)orange w/ white stripe dimmerc)orange illumination/dash lightI am mostly concerned about the power, IT even has me a little nervous about connecting the 12 v red ignition/switched from the harness to the clarions red (power lead) wireI looked up wiring diagrams on here, but I have not found one that matches what I have.Any suggestions ? should, and or can I tie the dimmer and illumination wires together in a 3 way, (which I doubt) The speakers seem fine they match up in color and diagram, but the power is confusing and I don't want to burn out the unit, I figure the fuses would catch it . but I don't want to risk it w/o asking first,thanks

Both yellows go together. The bus power is for the usb, and the other is radio memory. red to red and black to black. The illumination orange/white on the radio should also go to the orange/white on the harness.Aron
