2003 Vibe GT Value?

Post by liftaddict »

I own a Black on Black 2003 Vibe GT. It has 90,000 miles on it. Everything is in good condition except the engine. The engine has a rod knock and needs to be rebuilt or replaced. It has new tires, clutch, rebuilt transmission. No body damage and some minor scratches inside. 6 disc changer. I am trying to decide on a selling price. Any input on what you think this car is worth would be appreciated. I was thinking around $4,000. Also if anyone reading this might be interested in buying let me know! Thanks

wow, only 90k and you've already had to rebuild the trannie and the engine needs a rebuild? Phew..is this bad news for my car, or did you just drive it hard? *edit* I hate to say it, but if I knew that you'd already gone through an engine and tranny, I'd have to wonder what other components have had some excess wear put to them. Still on your OG clutch? how's the suspension, brakes, calipers, etc?

That makes me wonder what could be wrong with my car. I just rolled over 92K on it.

Wow, sorry to hear about your engine - I've got a black 2003 GT with 130,000 miles, and everything is fine. I'm on the original clutch and battery (though I should probably replace that soon so I don't get stranded.)I agree with the others - I'm guessing you won't get much for the car, as the vast majority of buyers won't want to deal with teh engine repair, and also wonder how both the engine and transmission got thrashed by 90k miles. Maybe do the repair and then sell?

If you can get a good deal on the rebuild, you might be able to make that back on a higher sale price.

I agree... maybe $2500. Resale value on a mint 03 VGT isn't much and now with GM announcing no more Pontiac, it's worth even less.

If I had the scratch for a project car right now, I'd make an offer. I love my '03 GT, and I certainly wouldn't mind having/working on another one, but being out of work isn't gonna leave me much money for parts.
