What type of SPrings are recommended?

Post by BajaZR2 »

I am a new member, and we just got a new Base Vibe. Options include: auto trans, side airbags, abs, power package, and 16" aluminum wheels.I was just curious if anyone could tell me which springs are the best. I don't want to affect the ride of the car drastically, but would like to improve the handling, and look.Any advice would be appreciated.

I've seen a lot of people on here talk about Hotchkis springs...persronally though, I didn't drop yet (emphasis on yet), so I'm unsure what to recommend...

I would go with Tein's The lowest drop for a good price. Tein is very reputable.

Welcome to genvibe. Cool your from Bay City also! I just got off the phone with J.C. from Hotchkis and he has 19 sets left. I'm going to order some today.Matrix / Vibe Sport Coils #19402 = $150.00 per set.... 1.5" drop up front and 1.25" in the rear

I have the Hotchkis springs on my Vibe and are very pleased with the ride quality. Smoother than stock on the jiggily stuff but a little firmer on the bad roads. A good compromise! The drop is more than advertised on the front, 1-3/4 at least. THEY ARE TUNED FOR YOUR CAR TO MAKE IT HANDLE PROPERLY! Their spring rates are different than Teins or the others. 250 front and 380 rear. I know that this is going to start an argument! Well worth the $

I absolutely love my Eibach Pro-kit. The ride is awesome, and the drop wasn't too drastic.

I got TRD's springs and wow the difference is amazing. Not to aggressive of a drop, and handling is twice what it was.
