you're looking at thousands. It cost my insurance company $2000+ just to repaint the hood, roof and the top of the front bumper (plus replacing the windshield). It really depends on the severity of the damage. But yeah, definitely thousands for a well done respray.

well no damage, just a few very small dings, just very annoying things to me, no one else notices it, i just want it to be show quality, just a good paint job and small bondo areas
Hi,If you've just got very small dings from hail or a car door, check out the paintless dent removal systems that have been developed in "recent" years. If the paint isn't cracked or damaged they can often massage out the dent, most often keeping the paint intact. To repaint your car PROPERLY (notice the emphasis here on doing it right) will cost you multiple 1000's of dollars. Minimum 4 and can run up to 10 or better depending upon the particular paint job and repairs made. Sure, Maaco can shoot it for $400 but you really don't want that paint job if you take pride in the appearance of your car, it also will only last a few years anyway. A good paint job will cost you $1000 in supplies, just for paint and thinners and related items. The bumpers are painted with special flex agents, proper primers are needed, with the crappy factory paint on the car you'd be silly not to strip the car down to metal and start over again. A lot of work for a really good job, that's where the numbers really add up, hours. Not so much time for a quickie job with inferior paint that will not please you or stand the test of time.Dave
