So i ended up having to replace my transmission this month. Ordered a low milage transmission from LQK. Drained all the fluid, installed a phantom grip and new pan gasket.Dropped the engine and tranny back in yesterday, however the transmission will not engage any gear (i did get about one revolution of the wheel at one time). I put the 7.3 qts of fluid in, but it doesnt seem to be circulating. Is there some step that I missed to get the fluid to start moving?tried searching but couldnt find anything.
Ok, I reset the Torque Converter again last night and the transmission still is not engaging. Before I rip this all out again, I noticed that the repair manual states to reset the memory. The TSB's state to use the Toyota Diagnostic Tester Kit to reset for these transmissions. My question is, do I actually need this, or can I just pull the battery cable and discharge any stored power?
So it eneded up being a defective oil pump in the transmission. Swapped it out with the one from the transmission i blew, and it works now.it was down for almost 2 months...blah.
