HP from CAI/SRI

Post by rsaxman »

What sort of HP gains are people seeing with the Cosmo Racing CAI? Their website advertises only a 7hp gain. The K&N SRI advertises a 12hp gain. I had the understanding that CAI traditionally supplied more hp. Thanks,

Both are inflated/best possible scenarios. Although the Cosmo rating is probably closer to the truth than the K&N. You will see HP gains from both. Although in the real world, the Cosmo will be better due to the fact that it draws in cooler air than the K&N. (I have the K&N.)

That's kinda what I thought. CAI offers more low end response right?

what year do you have, do you have drive by wire? if so I would HIGHLY suggest a SRI. CAI have been known to lean out the DBW cars and throw a CEL.Don't ask me why but the SRI don't seem to have this problem.CAI means harder to clean but cooler air being taken in.SRI means easy to clean, no worries about big puddles Very minor HP decrease over the CAI.

You're going to retain your torque with the SRI as well. With a CAI, your bottom end will suffer a bit, but you'll get more up top. Best of luck! I'm a proud owner of the K+N Typhoon SRI. I love it!
