Will M&T Amp affect DVD receiver brain?

Post by Wolfman213 »

I am considering splurging for a DVD receiver. http://www.crutchfield.com/p_6...tp=75 From the reviews, it appears that there is a separate "brain" unit. If I were to mount the on the M&T amp, would that create any kind of electric interference issues? Granted, I don't know the dimensions of it and if there is even enough room under the seat anyways, but this is simply my initial thought.I also considered just a regular CD player but this DVD receiver has really caught my eye.

It shouldn't be a problem as long as it's properly grounded... Nice unit, you will be very happy with it and it will offer a HUGE amount of expandability..

Good deal!! I didn't think it would, but I wanted to double check with the audiphiles here.Quote, originally posted by Sublimewind »... and it will offer a HUGE amount of expandability.. That's the logic that I'm using to pursuade myself to splurge at two times as much as I initially planned,

Yeah, I know how it goes... BUT, down the road, when the bug bites hard enough, you'll have plenty of processing for amps and everything... We could get you into 5.1 if you wanted... lol..

I've been thinking about a center channel if I go with this setup... but that will definitely be down the road. Well depending on how big the bug gets...

Well after doing some more research, the KVT-617 and 717 do not have Dolby or DTS decoding. The 817 does, however at the steep price of 950 for a refurbished model, I think I'll settle for the cheap route for now. Man every time I think I've good a good idea or plan for the audio, it all comes crumbling down. Enough of my rant.

That's ok man, 5.1 in a car is really just silly.. I mean consider your seating position, you are alread all the way to one side... so having a center channel isn't a big deal... There ARE other processors out there that will give you a center channel if you really want it though.. Besides, unless you are watching a DVD, which is illegal going down the road in view of the driver, you won't get any true center information anyway..
