oh... sorry you got stuck there. We stayed there in Nov and I wouldn't go back. the employees were less than helpful. however, there was a little restaurant in one of the older hotels that is pretty good. It's actually quite a bit aways from the main strip (ask Mav - I made him walk all 40 blocks with me). Take a cab down to the beach area or just hang out on the beach side. We didn't try the restaurant at the hotel as I was jonesing for lobster. LOL
Thanks Hope! It is one of the hotels that my client has in their block for the attendees so maybe the staff will behave lol!The beach is a must, even though I will get to hang out only after 5PM, not complaining as it is cold here in MTL.Tell me more what you guys did?

we headed to the miami seaquarium for most of the mid day and then drove out mid way to the keys and ate at an all you can eat seafood place. it was freaking awesome! i had so many crab legs. LOL.think it was called the Harbor inn or something? I can't remember exactly, but the food was well worth the drive.
If they are still there....LUMS.....key lime pie.....yummmmmmmmmy!I lived there in the mid 70's, it's changed so much (the city, for the better...... Florida as a whole, for the worse) since then. There is little I could point you to any longer.I'd make the trip to Key West if you can for the experience. It is a town unlike any other in this Nation. Plan on spending the night along the way. Watch the sunset if you can off the coast while you are down there.Have funDave

I am trying to plan some free time for some site visiting and need to see how far the Keys would be The first key you can see from Miami, Key Biscayne. If you are serious about going make reservations before hand for lodging. In the "old days" you could pretty much stop and sleep most anywhere but that has really changed in Florida with the influx of millions and millions and millions of people during the past 40 years! The old Florida was a wonderful place with wide open beaches and miles of scrub pine and palmetto. Today, Houses and Malls as far as you can see. Very sad.Dave
