I hate people.

Post by Amtron »

People just really tick me off some times. Today in a parking lot I was sitting in my car talking to my buddy and an Infiniti M45 parked next to me. My buddy pointed out his nice rims to me and we both looked over and he saw us both look. My buddy left because he had to go, so I was just waiting for the guy next to me to get out of his car so I could back out. When he opened his door he just swung the door and it smashed against mine twice. I didn't even know what to do, so I just looked at him to see his reaction. He didn't even look at me. I was so mad...So I got out of the car, took the tire iron in my back seat out, and beat his face in.Haha no didn't do that. I just got out while he could still see me and checked the damage. He didn't seem to acknowledge me, and there wasn't any marks, just dirt wiped away from where the door hit. I was so close to swinging my door right back, but after thinking I realized that my damage MY car, not just his. Then I was about to leave a note, but I figured if he was so ignorant in the first place the note would do nothing. I don't really have a point here, I felt like venting and commenting on how some people can just be so disrespectful of other people and their surroundings.

I equally hate people sometimes. I'm glad your car didn't get messed up though.

There are a lot of morons out there. Glad the incident didn't hurt your car, nor you! You just can't trust people these days.

I have a similar story from years ago: I had my brand new '93 Z28.... totally babied car (rarely saw rain, etc)... Normally I parked it far out in the lot so nobody parked next to me (to avoid door dings)... I never double-parked or anything mind you. I was taking a night class at a local college that didn't have enough parking (people would park on the grass, illegally, etc, so there was no such thing as a spot where nobody would park next to you. To minimize risk, I usually tried to park between two cars that were already there in hopes that I would get out of class and leave before they had a chance to dent my car. One day I got there and there were no such spots, so I parked next to one car, and waited in my car for someone to park next to me... eventually out of the corner of my eye I saw a car pull in, so I started putting my book in my bag and getting ready to go to class when all of a sudden I feel a THUD! I'm instantly seeing red, and look over and it's some ding-bat chick in a dirty 10 year old Oldsmoturd. Before I could say anything she looks up, sees I'm sitting in the car and says "oh, sorry, is that a new car?" I wanted to pull her spine out thru her nose right there. What difference does it make if it's new, it's my car, idiot! ...and she wasn't sorry she hit the car, she was sorry I was sitting in it. If it was a guy I'm pretty sure it would have been go-time. It left a blemish on the door that bothered me for the rest of the time I owned the car.Sorry for the long-winded story. It just demonstrates why I hate people as well.

i have 2 door dings on the vibe and i've already shared my numerous bumper run-ins, so I know how you feel. I almost lost it the other night -- I was leaving a grocery store parking lot where there's 1 main lane and 5 feeder lanes for parking. I was leaving in the main lane going below 35km/hr when this guy in a Pacifica whips out of one of the feeder lanes and almost runs over the front of my car. He was trying to beat another car leaving a 2nd feeder lane to the main exit --- where I was. I had to slam on the brakes and swerve to avoid him. then he floors it to a red light at the end of the parking lot -- where I kindly flipped him off and demonstrated the almighty vibe horn

I'm sorry to hear about that stupid donkey jerkface. It's for that reason I go out of my way not to park by other cars and not on a downslope where a shopping cart could roll.

I LOVE Shemp's idea of payback the best, forget cops, forget insurance, forget punching in the face, just go for the gold and pull their spine out of their nose!!! That's probably the closest description of what I feel like doing when that kind of stuff happens to me. I can't describe the anger I feel and I really am glad it's never happened in my sight or I would most likely be in jail for life by now. Even if you don't care about your car, it's still an expensive investment for ANYONE so why the heck ruin it!?!?!? I need to get a taser or something so I can stab it into someone's back if I see someone do that to my car.

Where I went to high school the student parking lot had one way in and one way out. The entry and exit were both designed for one lane of traffic, but if you were good at judging the width of your car two could fit. When school let out a hundred or so people would be trying to get out at the same time which led to many people driving aggressively to try to get to the exit (it could take a half an hour to get out of the parking lot). At the time of the incident I had a 1974 Chevrolet Nova and was in line to get out. Some guy in a Chevrolet Vega comes zooming through the lot and when he sees my behemoth of a car hit the brakes but still hits my car. I put my car in park, hit the kill switch and got out. I was 16 at the time and was not of a large stature (and still am not) and I walked up to his car and saw fear in his eyes. My intentions were only to ask him if he was okay, after having asked him he apologized, I looked at the cars, no damage and I was on my way. That's the only time I've seen somebody hit me in a parking lot.

Great idea! They would be so lucky, as a tire is a lot cheaper to replace than a dent in your door!!! (removed)...Now I'm looking forward to someone to make that mistake with me hahaha. With all of us here in the world that think words aren't enough to remind someone they did wrong, I'm surprised more people don't get arrested or killed because of parking lot incidents like these.Wow I bet if you had that '74 Nova now and someone did that to you it would be a different story! Some idiot in California rear ended Ken's Lamborghini Murcielago last year....how the hell do you hit a car like that? If I some how hit one, I would pull out a gun and kill myself right then and there to save everybody the aggravation lol. Sorry to stray off topic, I know we are talking about parking lots, not accidents.

Same thing happened in my Vibe, I was sitting in my car a job conference in Dallas, it was raining outside, and there was a spot open next to me. I saw a big Suburban or Expedition I think it was start to go by, then back up, and I just knew she was going to park next to me, and the spot wasn't very big. She gets out fine, then opens her rear driver side door, slamming it into my car, then starts trying to pull this big luggage bag out and repeatedly slams her door into my Vibe over and over again. I got out like (removed) and told her she was hitting my car. She said she didn't, I told her I was sitting right there listening to her hit it over and over, and she just said "oh, sorry" and walked of. I was pissed, and I couldn't tell if there was any damage b/c my car was wet from the rain, but later I noticed there was a small dent there. Really sucks people can be so inconsiderate!

I used to have serious anger management problems. Its amazing what some counceling can do. But anyways I was 17 drivin around in my first car. Pontiac sunbird, The 2door model. It was decent and I was proud of it because it was my first car. SO i was parked at a wegmans not FAR out but far enough to be surprised when a volvo pulls in next to me(there were 2 empty spots on either side of me.) and when the dude got out he slammed my passenger door hard enough to boune his door back in his face he reacted by slamming the door open again, htting my door twice as had this time. I IMMEDIATELY got out and started *****ing this douche out hard core. his only response was "dude your car is older than mine". not 2 weeks after I bought it, and there was a huge dent in the door. Idk what caused me to lose control. I mean it couldnt have been his total disregard for my property, or his condecendig attitude because my car was 10 years old. Nah, idk what it was but all I remember is two of the wegmans helping hands people helping DRAG me off of this guy.......... Hence the counsiling. So thats my story. These people need to start uderstandig that SOME PEOPLE actually CARE about their CARS!

(removed)...all great ideas. I would have been throwing the wegmans helpers off of you Goodviberations so you could finish that guy off with a sledge hammer. Or go "American History X" style on him..."bite the curb!"I'm just waiting for some pansy to chime in "...but it's only a car, it's not worth the trouble". Not only are cars expensive, but some people just need to be taught a lesson and no one has the mind to do it so you should be so fortunate to have people like us that will teach them a lesson without thinking twice about so the same thing wont happen to your cars If they are paralyzed from the neck down they wont be slamming doors anymore (removed).

There's a disappointing percentage of our population that have no idea what they are doing most of the time. I've watched drivers park right next to a solitary car, one obviously parked well out of the way to avoid door dings, and then carelessly open their door into it. There has to be some kind of phenomena that causes this behavior, because I've always parked far away as I can from the crowd and many times found someone parked right up tight to my car... when there was still several football fields worth of room to park in. And yes, a ding was delivered. You can ask these people to please stop doing this, or you can beat them with a stick, but the result would generally be the same... Huh? I hit what? Oh, sorry I didn't notice. Duh. Best not to get angry, because you can't really do much to change these individuals. They'll probably do the same thing at the next parking lot. Try to push the ding back out if it can be gotten to. I hate door dings and the ding-bats that inflict them. Park as far away as you can and enjoy the hike to where ever you are going.

i've had to have the cops come, to get me to leave someone alone... That incident actually started with some nice road rage that the OTHER driver delt out by punching my drivers side window at a light.... was all I could do not to push him into traffic as we were sitting in the turn lane.. Cops gave him a good talking to as you could see streaks from him punching my car on the window... lol... There are other things I care not to share that have gone further... I'm older now though and things just don't bother me like that so much anymore... Of course, I don't drive the Subie to the movie theater or grocery, so that helps..

people these days have a general lack of respect for anyone or anything. the LGT had so many door dings and scrapes from the mall parking lot, i can't even begin to count. the new STI, well I tried for awhile to baby it and park it way in the back with the rest of us (removed) retentive don't touch my car folks, but after a couple rallyx, autox and me eating the curb pulling into a parking spot too fast, I just gave up. If I ever sell the car or trade it in, i'll get them fixed. luckily the local dent dude charges by the panel and not the number of dings! still irritating, but i'm trying hard to not be so angry and funnel that energy to more positive outlets (like dodgeball, because nothing feels as awesome as nailing someone in the gut with a little rubber ball!)

Only one real solution. Buy an old used plastic sided Saturn for all those high density, door dinging parking lot trips. Or maybe a Corvette.

Stay away from crowded parking lots with that car. Very nice. Hope no one dings it! Everyone should care enough about their own cars not to inflict that kind of damage on someone else's car.

I don't park by other cars and while sitting in a lot with an abundance of empty spaces on a weekday, waiting for a callback for a standby doctor appointment, you can imagine my horror when this guy in a Nissan pickup parks in the stall next to me, opens his door and BAM! right into my passenger door. I honked my meep-meep horn, he completely ignored me and waddled off into the store. Of course dude is 3 (4??) times my size and there'd been random stabbings/murders, not wanting to be next, I decided to call the cops, they said someone would be there but nobody showed up...

You know, I feel similar to many of you but I'd hesitate to use the statement "I hate people". It's a tad extreme. I bet most of these people we've encountered could be very nice people OUT OF THE CAR and in a social or work setting.I do think that so many people are so busy and self focused that they fail to think of anyone or anything other than themselves.I've seen people operate their lives in a "fog" where they are totally removed from the reality around them. Cell phones and Blue Tooth really isn't helping this at all for they are now in their own portable virtual world! (don't get me wrong, I love technology, just not the addiction to it)There are individuals in my life that I could probably use the term "hate" when referring to them but they earned that term by how they have chosen to live their lives.Dave

I hate people that hate Star Trek. There I said it. I just watched "City on the Edge of Forever" for the 4 millionth time. It amazes me how one man (Gene Roddenberry) took such great risks to put his vision into motion despite the realities of the world on the night of Sep 8th, 1966 and the obvious scrutiny his vision would encounter as a result of the realities of that time. The thought that any one of us could be the catalyst for changing the entire world by one simple action is an immense thought. I'll have one more box of wine tonight before I ponder the idea of the potential each one of us has to make our world a better place. I wish you all the power to do so.
